Galway Arts Festival 2007

Once again Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided a sizable amount of PA, audio equipment and crew to the 30th Galway Arts Festival, being involved with over 20 of the many theatre shows, live concerts, dance/performance acts, readings and exhibitions. Boston Scientific Summer BBQ
& NUIG President's Garden Party

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided PA and crew for Boston Scientific's Summer BBQ and NUIG's President's Party over separate dates in July.

The Sawdoctors blew the proverbial doors off The Warwick in a fundraising gig for the Galway Access Music Project during July.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd. supplied AV and PA for a fundraising event in aid of Croi in the Hurdle Suite of the new Killanin Stand during the Galway Races. As well as a full compliment of Nexo PS15's, PS10's and digital control, a fixed camera relay was provided to display screens.
The Wiz @
The Town Hall Theatre, Galway.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided a 12 way Sennheiser G2 EW300 wireless system for the week long run of Twin Productions' The Wiz. Also supplied were HSP2 headset mics, a PS15 system, digital console and crew. Sennheiser ME36 miniature shotgun capsules were used as a more discreet version of the usual shotgun seen at front of stage. In association with DB Audio the show was digitally recorded, the recording eventually forming the soundtrack for the show DVD - also shot, edited and mastered by DB Audio. The Performance Corporation
in Belmullet

A Nexo PS10 system and Sennheiser wireless was supplied to Kildare's Performance Corporation for their outdoor production of Lizzie Lavelle and the Vanishing of Emlylough, a community arts piece set in Emlylough Golf Links in Belmullet.
Galway Jazz Festival 2007 Launch

PA was supplied for the official launch of the 3rd Galway Jazz Festival at the Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square, Galway. Alex Fernie Audio Ltd has been involved with the festival since it's inaugural year and once again will be supplying the PA for the 3 day festival held in venues throughout Galway City from the 14th - 16th September.
Electric Picnic 2007

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided FOH engineers for the Crawdaddy Stage at this years Electric Picnic. Pictured above is Duke Special's knockout set on the Saturday. Other highlights were Modest Mouse, Delorentos, The Flaws and Damien Dempsey.

A Long Day's Journey into Night

A Nexo PS10 system was supplied for Druid's latest production of Eugene O'Neill's legendary play for it's premiere in Galway's Town Hall Theatre.

Galway Oyster Festival Gala Dinner,
The Radisson SAS, Galway.

The Oyster Ball festured performances from Rebecca Storm and Peter Corry, the Friendship Band, resident band Horizon and Restless. Alex Fernie Audio supplied digital consoles, monitor system and a sennheiser wireless system and crew for the inhouse GEO system. Pictured is Horizon's Gareth Philipps.

  • PA supplied for the launch of Jimmy Higgins' (snr) book on the showband era Are Ye the Band. The launch also festured performances from many of the former greats of the era. The book is available in all good bookshops.
  • PA supplied for the end of dinner entertainment in Dublin's City West hotel in honour of the GAA All-Ireland ladies football finalists.
  • PA supplied for Sawdoctors show as part of Clifden Arts Week.
  • PA supplied for the press launch of Babaro in the House Hotel Galway. The children's arts festival takes place throughout Galway from the 14th-21st October.
  • Sound crew supplied for the Keith Woods/Terry Wogan Golf Classic held on Doonebeg golf course, Co. Clare.

Making Galway Proud Ball,

Schwarzkopf Business Awards,
Alexander Hotel, Dublin.

PS10 and PS15 systems were combined to provide audio for the Schwarzkopf Business Awards held recently. Sennheiser wireless and ME36 lectern mics were also supplied with full crew.
10th Baboro Children's
Arts Festival, Galway.

A variety of systems were used during the over 20 events that were held throughout Galway between the 15th - 22nd October.
As we go to press, the Docs re-released single I useta Lover is straight in at no. 7 in the Irish chart. Featured on the single is a live version of the song recorded using consoles and monitoring from Alex Fernie Audio Ltd. All proceeds from the sale go to the People in Need charity.

We have also supplied PA for a number of large scale Docs shows recently with more to come in December.
AlphaE and PS systems were supplied with crew for Trinity College Dublin's Freshers Week. The week featured The Flaws, comedian Jason Byrne as well as other events on and off-campus.
PS10 systems were supplied to the Trasna Festival in Kilkenny for a variety of uses

Rough Magic's Improbable Frequency Tour 2007.

A mixture of PS15's with LS1200 subs and PS10's together with a Mackie TT24 digital console are currently touring throughout Ireland as sound reinforcement for Rough Magic theatre company's production of the critically-acclaimed musical. The tour opened in Galway's Black Box theatre and continued throughout the month of November into early December.
Abu Media choose Sennheiser
for latest game-show.

Award-winning film and TV production company, Abu Media, hired Sennheiser EW300 series wireless systems with HSP2 headsets SKM345 handhelds for a 2 week shoot for a soon to be broadcast new gameshow as gaeilge. Also supplied were ME36 miniature rifle mics for audience micing.
MAC Cosmetics Seminars

Plasma display, camera and audio were provided for series of nationwide seminars for MAC cosmetics. International make-up artists provided tips and sales advice for customers in Brown Thomas stores in Cork, Limerick and Galway.
Druid Theatre on Tour.

Sennheiser wireless and ME36 miniature rifle mics are currently on tour with Druid Theatre Company's production of My Brilliant Divorce. Nexo PS10 systems were also supplied for some venues on the 5 week tour.
Calvin Harris at Cuba Live*

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided Nexo AlphaE and an 8 way monitor mix with sidefills for Calvin Harris' sold out show in Cuba Live, Galway.

Arcana at the World Rally Championship, Sligo.

PA and crew was provided for a 6 minute live TV performance by Arcana  (formerly Macteo) at the end of the final stage of the 2007 WRC in Ireland. The 6 minute performance and firework display was broadcast live to 120 countries worldwide. (Pic - Rally Ireland)
