Charlie McBride's gig of the year...

Among the many selections for gig of 2007, Galway Advertiser theatre critic Charlie Mc Bride picked the Diane Jones show in the Warwick during the Galway Arts Festival 2007. Naturally, we provided the PA and FOH and monitor engineers for this show - the only selection from many nominations not in Galway's Roisin Dubh. Pictured below is the night and the artist in question. Congratulations also to the Roisin Dubh for the many top shows they put on in 2007.
Sleeping Beauty, Black Box, January 2008.
Sennheiser wireless system was supplied for the two week run of the Performing Arts School's production of Sleeping Beauty in the Black Box.

The Sawdoctors, Black Box, Galway.

For the Doc's first Galway shows as Meteor Award winners, Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied the PA. FOH PA consisted of 12 stacks of Nexo AlphaE, 10 Logic System stage monitors with Nexo PS15 with Subs used as stage sidefills. Monitor engineer was also supplied for the two dates. "Savage" was Davy Carton's verdict. The band are currently on tour in the US.

The shows were part of Galway Student Rag Week, where systems were also on hire in the NUIG student bar, which played host to Republic of Loose and other acts over the 5 days of entertainment in aid of local charities.
Damien Dempsey, The Warwick, Galway

Damien Dempsey played to a packed Warwick Ballroom in aid of PREDA, an organisation dedicated to the abolition of world-wide child slavery. Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied PA, monitor engineer and crew for the event with regular Damien Dempsey engineer LON at FOH.

Cora Smyth on tour

Following on from the success of her Galway Arts Festival shows (with which we were also involved) trad fiddle player Cora Smyth recently undertook a short tour of Ireland in support of her latest album Are we there yet. Alex Fernie Audio supplied PA for a number of the dates, using a mixture of NEXO Alpha and PS systems depending on venue capacities. Pictured is sound check at Longford's Backstage Theatre.
NBCRI Valentines Ball, Radisson SAS, Galway.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied a combination of NEXO AlphaE and PS systems for the NCBRI Ball rather than use the in house Nexo Geo system which was unavailable for the event.
Galway International Rally, Clayton Hotel, Galway.

PA was supplied for the prize-giving for the Galway International Rally at John Glynn's Clayton Hotel, Galway.

Athenry Musical Society's  The Pirates of Penzance

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided a NEXO PS system once again for Athenry's production of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic, using Sennheiser HSP2 headsets and wireless systems. Also in association with DBaudio, a DVD was produced of the show using 24-track digital for a clean audio recording.
The Timber Tramps @ The Warwick

PA and crew were provided for the Valentines Day show of the Timber Tramps in the Warwick.
Muscailt - NUIG Spring Arts Festival.

PA was provided for the week long student arts festival on the NUIG campus. Highlights were a performance by Mary McPartlan in support of her latest album and Limerick band We should be Dead.
Druid on tour - My Brilliant Divorce

Sennheiser wireless systems and mics are currently on tour with Druid's production of My Brilliant Divorce, starring Deirdre O'Kane.

The 2008 Croi Ball featured a-capella singers, a string quartet, a tribute to Pavorotti, Rythym Corporation and Galway band Tightrope. MC and DJ was Lyric FM's Lorcan Murray.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied PA for the funky electro and progressive house sounds of Angelo and Ingrosso. Supplied was a NEXO Alpha E System with PS15 and subs for stage monitors.

5th April 2008.

The Run Johnny Run Ball in the Radisson SAS hotel Galway was the venue forthe first gig with our new Nexo GEO S12 system. The ball was in aid of Seachange, an Irish organisation offering micro-credit to the world's poor.
The night featured a phenomenal drumming performance by Johnny Donnelly, Noel Eccles and Noel Brady with Arcana.

On the same night, we also provided the PA for Jose Gonzalez' Galway show with a Nexo Alpha system with 5 way Logic System monitors mix all looked after by PK and JC.
Green Party National Conference,
Fairways Hotel, Dundalk. April 10-13th 2008.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd once again provided PA and AV for the Green Party conference in Dundalk. A Nexo GEO S12 system was deployed for the main auditorium seating 600 people, with Nexo PS10s used for feeds in overflow, press and media areas. 20 lines were provided for press and news feeds with ISO splits to the OB for the live broadcasts on RTE.
On top of that, we provided camera relay for visual feeds to 5 plasma displays throughout the hotel, recording the event for Green Party archive purposes.

TV production company Abu Media hired a sizable Sennheiser wireless system with HSP2 headset mics for the 3 week recording of the new season of TG4's kids gameshow Bog Stop.

14 April 2008.

The Docs played a one off show in Limerick University to celebrate 21 years of the Stables venue. Nexo AlphaE was supplied.
Gift Grub's Mario Rosenstock,
Irish Taxation Institute's Conference,
Radisson SAS hotel, 24 - 26 April 2008.

Gift Grub was the after dinner entertainment during the recent ITI conference in the Radisson. A Nexo PS10 system was provided for the main auditorium with Sennheiser wireless and speech mics for the 2 day conference.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd provided the PA for the Galway date of Iron & Wine's Irish tour. Supplied were two hangs of 4 Nexo GEO S12 with  a pair of Nexo RS15 as FOH PA. Inish Bofin Arts Festival, May 9-11, 2008

The Hothouse Flowers were the headline act for the 3 day music and arts festival on Inishbofin. Other highlights were trad act Island Eddy and the Niall Toner bluegrass band. A Nexo AlphaE FOH system was supplied with Nexo PS10s and PS15s for the six way monitor mix.
Volvo World Ocean Race - Galway Stopover
Press Launch, May 21st 2008.

Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied a Nexo GEO system for the launch of the Galway leg of the Volvo Ocean Race in 2009 in the Galway Bay Hotel. Pictured is MC, Hector O'Heochagain and Minister Martin Cullen TD. PS15s and PS10's were supplied for overflow rooms.
Earlier in the day a small PS10 system was supplied for the press briefing in Galway's Meyrick Hotel.
