As well as equipment rental, we also provide professional, qualified and experienced sound technicians and crew guaranteeing PA system reliability and audio quality, whatever the event. We had our busiest ever month in July into early August, hence the delay in updating the site. The Galway Arts Festival was a huge success - as evidenced by the amount of standing ovations we witnessed throughout the festival. We were grateful to have played a small part in some of the great performances. More information and photos below. Unfortunately, the world doesn't stop for the Arts Festival, so we were also busy with corporate events and other festivals during the period, as well as maintaining our service and maintenance contracts throughout the city. Finally, Ireland's entry in the Volvo Ocean Race was launched during Race Week.
August so far has seen corporate events as part of the Galway Races, a musical production as well as one off shows. We'll have photos and full stories in the next update.

31st Galway Arts Festival 14 - 27 July 2008

Once again Alex Fernie Audio Ltd shared the sound reinforcement for the Galway Arts Festival with Dublin company Litton Lane. With the new "Big Top", it was one of our busiest festivals of recent years. The following is a list of the shows for which we provided PA and crews

Music: Richard Hawley (Radisson); Philip Glass (St. Nicholas's Church); Preservation Hall Jazz Band (Big Top); Omara Portiondo (Big Top, co-supplier with Litton Lane); Lunasa (Radisson); Maigh Seola (St. Nicholas' Church)

Comedy/Other: Des Bishop (Radisson); Readings (Hotel Meyrick) Multimedia Visual Arts (Box Office).

Our new Nexo GEO S12 system was used extensively for the acoustically challenging environments of St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church and the infamous Radisson Ballroom. AlphaE with PS15's took care of the Big Top, whilst Nexo PS10's were used variously as smaller systems and as monitors

NEXO Geo S12 opens Ballina Street Festival

A NEXO GEO system was deployed for the opening of the Ballina Street Festival, flown from ground support stands supplied by Blacklight.
Premiere of Kila 'Live' film - Galway Film Fleadh 2008

A NEXO AlphaE system was provided for the open air premiere of Kila Live in Galway's Eyre Square on July 11th.
NEXO GEO Launches Green Dragon

A NEXO Geo S12 system was deployed for the launch of Green Dragon, the Irish entry in the Volvo Ocean Race. The race stops in Galway next May.
